Painting

To paint simple forms Hardcopy puts
following toolbar on your disposal:



If the toolbar is not displayed, you can activate it about the menu item
    Settings Tool bar Standard tool
.

For the paint functions you can use the left or right mouse button.
(You can assign different colors to the left or right mouse button respectively.)

    - The left mouse button paints in the foreground color
    - The right mouse button paints in the background color

Procedure
• Select a color (in the color palette or with the color picker)
• Select a paint function, e.g. Rectangle
• Move the mouse curser to that position, where the left upper edge of the rectangle is supposed to be painted
• Press the mouse button and hold down
• Move the mouse cursor to that position, where the right lower edge of the rectangle is supposed to be painted
• Release the mouse button

During the painting the size and the linewidth of the rectangle is indicated to you, which would be painted after releasing the mouse button.

Line width
For the functions rectangle, ellipse, circle, point and line the line width can be pre-set.


Tip:
If you reduce images subsequently, because you want to present these images in reduced form in the internet for example, please select a line width then, which corresponds at least to the multiple of the reduction.



Fill


Fill with tolerance
For the filling a tolerance can be pre-set.
Example "Fill" with 0% and 15% tolerance:

In the left image only a single point is changed by "Fill"; that is not recognizable. In the right image a larger area is replaced by the new color (blue).


Color picker
Selects a color in the actual image.
Click on the color picker and move the mouse cursor about the image; the color under the mouse cursor is indicated to you in the color palette, the corresponding RGB-values of this color are indicated to you in the status bar.

Activate the left or right mouse button for selecting the color.

Color palette
The color palette is shown to you at the right side of the Hardcopy-window.
(If the color palette is not displayed, you can switch on it about the menu Settings Show color palette .)
